OUR APPROACH |
Our therapeutic approach is based on the understanding of therapeutic community as a method:
- Hierarchical structure. It provides goal and meaning of moving up in the hierarchy in the programme. Each move toward upper position brings more responsibilities and opportunities for learning
- Learning process - built up system of stimulation of the positive behavior and giving negative response to the unacceptable behavior of the residents
- Group with its set rules, culture and expectations
- Application of cognitive-behavioral therapy. Every resident has to work out and present to the group his individual cognitive-behavioral formulation for the relation between use of heroin and his own personal beliefs
- Application of psychoanalytic therapy (two groups per week)
Working out an individual therapeutic plan for each resident is a key element of the programme. It is made by the resident together with his referent who is a member of the staff. The individual therapeutic plan is worked out through individual counsilling, the goals groups, filling sheets for goals
